Mason Dixon 12 and Under Girls Softball Final Rules 2007

1                    A.S.A. rules unless otherwise noted

2                    6:15 pm start time unless previously agreed upon by coaches.

3                    Game is 1 hour 40 minutes drop dead.  Revert back to the last inning if in the middle of an inning.

4                    5 run per inning maximum with exception of 7^th inning, which is unlimited.  12 run rule after the 4^th inning, 10 run rule after the 5^th completed inning.

5                    40 ft. pitching distance, windup optional.

6                    Home team is responsible for field preparation, obtaining umpire and any costs associated with the same.  Umpires are required to be certified or approved by the Mason Dixon League.  Must provide verification of certification or attend Mason Dixon Umpire Clinic.

7                    Opposing team coach should be contacted no less than 24 hours prior to game to reschedule.  Weather related cancellations the opposing team should be contacted by 4:00 on the game day to cancel.  If no phone call is received, it is assumed that the game is still on.

8                    Coaches must control their players and parents.  No profanity, alcohol or smoking allowed on the playing field during games.

9                    Unlimited Substitution.  Every player must play a minimum of 2 consecutive innings unless of injury, illness, or disciplinary action.  All players must be in the batting lineup unless injured and then may be skipped.  If bringing up a reserve player from a lower age group, first you must disclose player(s) as addition to roster, second this player(s) must be at the end of the lineup.  This player may not play the first 3 innings unless this player(s) is needed to make a full team.  YOU MAY NOT UTILIZE A PLAYER FROM A ROSTER IN THE SAME AGE GROUP.  THIS PLAYER MUST BE REGISTERED WITH YOUR ORGANIZATION.
